Celebrate the adventures of Junie B. Jones at Marriott Theatre

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!

Welcome to the world of Junie B. Jones – a lovable first grader on the brink of greatness – if only. Based on the Barbara Park's best-selling books, the Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences presents a warm, wonderful story of love, challenges and hope in the life of one spunky little girl.

This special one-hour presentation is the perfect introduction to live performance for children. The screenplay and music was developed by the team who brought Dear Edwina to the stage—Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich—and developed into a genuinely comical (and not strictly-for-kids) musical by TheatreworksUSA. Junie B. Jones, The Musical is directed and choreographed by Johanna McKenzie Miller with musical direction by Ellen Morris.

Junie B is given her own journal, her "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal" to write about all of her zany adventures at school. Most important, she learns about true friendship and that when life gives you lemons… you just need to make lemonade!

Elizabeth Telford stars as "Junie B. Jones" in a joyful, exuberant performance. The audience really follows her ups and downs until the triumphant conclusion. She makes a real emotional connection that everyone in the audience can relate to. As writer Marcie Heilsler said after the debut performance, "We're all first graders, at heart." Each of the talented cast plays multiple roles. Kudos to Lydia Burke as "May and Chenille," Rashada Dawan as "Mom, Mrs. Gutzman, Grace and Camille," Jackson Evans as "Sheldon," Adam LaSalle as "Daddy, Mr. Scary and Mr. Woo," Garrett Lutz as "Herb," and Allison Sill as "Lucille."

The production features set design by Rachel Rauscher, lighting design by Aaron Lorenz, costume design by Amanda Vander Byl, sound design by Robert E. Gilmartin, media design by Anthony Churchill and Nick Coso, and musical supervision by Patti Garwood.
