Join us for a one week, one-stop-shop, ONE-ON-ONE college audition intensive!
Our faculty has watched thousands of college prescreen auditions, served on admissions committees, and coached a multitude of high school seniors for their college auditions. They know the in's and out's of the college audition process, and will walk you through the process step by step to help find the right college for YOU. Leave our program with your prescreens filmed, new headshot/resumes, a healthy college list and much much more. Get the inside scoop about what college programs are looking for and learn how to give a great college audition!
Marriott Theatre’s Artistic Leadership, who also serve as professors at renowned musical theatre programs, will guide you through this intense process to ensure you are ready for auditions!

Katie Johannigman (she/her)- Program Head
Katie is the Associate Artistic Director at the Marriott Theatre in Chicago. For the last 5 years, she served on the faculty in the Musical Theatre Department at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre. At CCM, in addition to directing and choreographing productions, she also taught Tap, Jazz and The Senior Showcase.
Choreography/Directing credits include: Oklahoma! (MacHaydn Theater), Bernstein's Mass (Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra), Shrek (Connecticut Repertory Theater), Lizzie and Mame (The Human Race Theater), Jesus Christ Superstar (Clinton Showboat Theater), Santa Claus (Cincinnati Children's Theater). Bright Star, 42nd Street, Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Sondheim On Sondheim, Candide, The Theory Of Relativity, and Godspell at CCM. Katie served as the Resident Choreographer of the St. Louis MUNY for their 2020 virtual season. Katie served as the Tap Consultant for the Public Theater's current production of Soft Power, written by Janine Tesori and David Henry Hwang. She is currently working on a new show for Disney Cruise Lines with director/choreographer, Connor Gallagher.
Select performing credits include the National Tour of Oliver!, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Pirates! at The MUNY, The Light In The Piazza, Elf and Anything Goes at The Marriott Theatre, Mary Poppins at Kansas City Starlight Theatre, Company at The Gallery Players, and Cats and Chicago at the West Virginia Public Theatre.
Recently she served as Artistic Director at Broadway Method Academy in Fairfield, CT, and recently taught at the Poly WeDo Academy in Beijing, China. Katie also teaches masterclasses around the country including Interlochen Arts Camp, Broadway Dreams Foundation, The Broadway Vocal Coach, Broadway Collective, Stage Door Manor, and the MUNY. Katie is a certified Tap Teacher with the American Tap Dance Foundation, is currently working towards her certification as an Intimacy Director/Choreographer with IDC and is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association.

Dr. Ryan T. Nelson (he/him) - Music Supervisor
Ryan is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Music Theatre for the School of Communication at Northwestern University and Music Director for Northwestern’s Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Art. He is also the founder and co-executive director of Broadway Across Borders, a non-profit that cultivates cross-cultural music theatre performance with emerging artists from around the globe. His Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in conducting are from the University of North Texas, where he was a student of Eugene Migliaro Corporon.
